Toledo in Two Days!

We had an awesome-albeit short-time in Toledo last weekend (the 12th and 13th). On Saturday, we went directly to the "Imagination Station" museum (where our membership to our local museum allows us to get in free). We had visited the museum over Thanksgiving weekend, but we wanted to spend more time there, especially since we tried to go during our Christmas visit but found they were closed on Mondays (Emma was very disappointed)! We really enjoyed the traveling exhibit, "Dino Dig," where Emma got to dress up like a dinosaur, take care of a nest of dinosaur puppets, navigate through a maze, and dig through a box of rubber pieces for "fossils"! She also liked returning to the "Little Kidspace" area just for kids 5 and under. She "shopped" at the grocery store, "drove" an ambulance, dressed up like a firefighter, and sailed her own boat!
Saturday evening, we met Grandma Karen at the Build-A-Bear store, where Emma got to make her long-awaited stuffed animal. Grandma had promised she'd buy her one when she was potty trained. (After Mom tried anything and everything to try and train her, Emma trained herself in less than a week at the beginning of January...was it the Build-A-Bear incentive? We'll never know for sure!) Anyways, Emma chose a bunny, which was good since the Valentine's bears were sold out. She did pick out a Valentine-y outfit, though (check out the picture)! Of course, given the reason she earned the bunny, it came as no surprise that Emma wanted panties for her, which looked like the real thing! Grandma seemed to enjoy the experience almost as much as Emma!
Finally, on Sunday, the real reason we paid a visit to Toledo in the dead of winter (when they still had a foot of snow on the ground) was for Courtney's baby shower. Courtney is Todd's stepsister's daughter, our niece, and our former flower girl. Emma was invited, so she went and played with her cousin Lily. The girls also enjoyed the cake and other treats!
Our whirlwind trip was over too soon, but we packed a lot into those two days!
