A Weekend in the South!

The weekend of April 27-28th, we headed South...to the southern part of Ohio, that is! We had missed opening day at Kings Island, which had happened a week earlier than normal because the new roller coaster, "Banshee," was ready to be unveiled. Rather than fight the opening day crowds and miss Easter celebrations at home, we waited until the next weekend. Emma and I had both been sick in the days leading up to our trip, and we almost had to cancel it, but we were both feeling much better by the end of the week, so we went anyways. The weather was beautiful...sunny and about 80 degrees! It was still really crowded, but we were so excited to get a sneak peek at summer that we weren't really bothered by it. We got to do most of our favorite things, like see the Charlie Brown shows and ride the kids' rides in Planet Snoopy. Emma even got a chance to go up on stage at Charlie Brown's Hoedown, where she was instructed by Lucy to play the washboard. When her turn came, she got a little stage fright and just stood there! However, she got into it a little more when the other two kids who'd been chosen joined in with her. On Sunday we headed to Jungle Jim's (a gigantic grocery store). We had been there last summer, but we were happy to have a return visit...Todd, for the food; me, for the "kitchy decorations," and Emma, for the candy and entertainment! We also went to Ikea furniture store and bought a few odds and ends. We really enjoy going to the Cincinnati area, and we'll plan to go back soon!
