Back to Preschool!

Emma went back to preschool yesterday (the 26th)! She's in the 4s class this year at the same school she attended during April and May as a part of the 3s class. She's now going 3 days a week instead of 2, for two hours a day. We attended an open house on Friday, and Daddy took her for her first official day on Monday. She seems very excited to be back!

A Bushel, A Peck...

We met Grandma and Papa Isch, Uncle Jason, and Aunt Kristen at an orchard on Sunday September 25th to include them in a tradition we'd begun with Emma last fall...picking fresh apples! Emma especially enjoyed spending time with her Uncle Jason, since the tallest member of the group was able to lift her up to pick the best. Now, if only we could convince Emma that fresh, whole apples are even more delicious than apple juice and applesauce...

Kings Island

We had another great trip to Kings Island amusement park, just as we did last year. Because Emma's a bit taller (42 inches, to be exact), she was able to ride a few more rides than last time. In spite of the rain that followed us off and on throughout the day, we took advantage of the relatively short lines and rode about twice as many rides as last year, when we had picture perfect weather. We spent most of our time in "Planet Snoopy," the kids' area, which has a good mix of traditional and novel rides. We also enjoyed the water park, where a few drops didn't matter. The highlight of our day, though, was a ride on the "Woodstock Express" (formerly "The Beastie," the kids' version of "The Beast"), a traditional wooden roller coaster. Since Emma had opted out of two rides at the last minute, we weren't sure if she'd enjoy a roller coaster, but she LOVED it! In fact, we rode it 4 times, and Todd and I were having almost as much fun as she was! Unfortunately, we weren't able to get any pictures of it because the ride was set back in the trees, but take my word for it, Emma's becoming a real thrill-seeker!!!
