Two More Trips to K.I.!

Once in mid-May, and again Memorial Day weekend, we took two more trips to Kings Island. Our mid-May trip was a special treat because we practically had the park to ourselves! Compared to our visit in April shortly after the beginning of the season, when the lines were long and the park was packed with dance competition groups, we rode twice as many rides in a fraction of the time! Emma rode old favorites like Woodstock Express Kids' Coaster and Boo Blasters Haunted House ride, as well as some "big" coasters like The Bat (formerly known as Flight Deck). She also ventured onto some rides she hadn't tried before, including The Racer and-most surprisingly-The Vortex, which goes upside down 6 times!! She was disappointed she couldn't ride the new roller coaster, "Banshee," which Mommy enjoyed 3 times during our visit (all with little or no wait), but maybe in another year or two she'll be tall enough. It was warmer and sunnier than we expected the first day, so even though the water park wasn't open yet, Emma took several runs through "Snoopy's Splash Dance" in her clothes...luckily we had a set of dry clothes handy for when she was done! Daddy also spoiled her by winning two prizes, including a Minion and a tail she could attach to her skirt!** The second day was a bit cooler than the first, but even less crowded, and the rain they'd predicted as an all-day drizzle held off until 4 o'clock. We were up in the Eiffel Tower when we found out the park was closing an hour early-7 instead of 8-due to the weather and light crowds. Still, we had blast!**On the Sunday before Memorial Day, we made a return visit to K.I. to spend the day at the water park, Soak City, which had just opened for the season. It was a hot day, and unlike our mid-May visit, it was packed!!! Even so, we had a great time, and once again, Emma tried some new rides, including Pineapple Pipeline speed slide and a race with Daddy down Tropical Twister!
