"Snow" much fun at Gramma and Papa's
A few weeks ago, we finally were able to get out of the house after being snowed in for a while. Gramma Karen came down from Toledo, then she, Emma and I went to Mom and Dad's for a visit (Todd stayed home to volunteer at the science museum). Mom, Dad, Emma and I went over to Malabar Farm, hoping to go sledding. The snow was too deep on the sledding hill(!), so we pulled Emma around the farm area, looking for animals. It was a nice visit!
Swimming!
Emma just finished up the winter session of swimming lessons at the Y. She was in the "pre-pike" class this time (as opposed to the "Mommy/Daddy and Me" class she took last spring). It's a class for two and three year olds, but we parents still get in the water with the kids. Although 10 kids came to the first session, most days it was a nice, small group of about 5, although a couple of nights it was just Emma! She learned to jump off the wall, float on her back (with help), "swim" to the teacher, and swim by herself with two "noodles" supporting her. We're taking a break this next session, but we'll try to sign her up again when the spring/summer session starts so she'll be ready for "pool" season.

Let it Snow!
We've had quite a bit of snow here in the past week. Last Friday, the 5th, schools let out 2 hours early because it was really coming down hard. By the time it let up on Saturday, we had about a foot! Then, just as we "dug out" from that, a second storm dropped an additional 6 inches on us. Emma sure has loved having Mommy home, and we've been out in the snow nearly every day. She had a little trouble walking in it until it froze over! Emma has now built 6 snowmen over the course of the winter! "Frosty the 6th" is the little one you see...it wasn't very good packing snow, but we did have fun on the swing and slide!
