Fun on the Farm
On Saturday September 29, we went to Malabar Farm near Mom and Dad's house for the Heritage Days Festival. Hay rides, craft booths, a Civil War encampment, music, and more brought us an afternoon of entertainment. Emma enjoyed petting the llamas and watching an elderly woman spinning their fur into yarn on an old-fashioned spinning wheel. She also tried washing clothes in a tub and tasted butter made in a churn. We even got to tour "The Big House" where author Louis Bromfield-the owner of the farm-once lived. Finally, Emma got to ride in the front of a horse wagon! We then went back to Mom and Dad's to help Mom celebrate her birthday and took Kristen's dog Sierra for a walk. Emma got to hold the leash by herself for a while (a first) until Sierra got a little too interested in something rustling around in the woods and almost took Emma for a walk! It was a beautiful fall day in the country!
